This website is dedicated to the memory of our son, Noah. "Noah Man" was the nickname I gave him when he was just two years old. One day he asked why I called him that, and I told him, "Because your name is Noah, and you're my man." He burst into laughter, and from that moment on, the name stayed with him.
A few months after a tragic backyard accident took Noah's life at the age of six. Team Noah Man was born. While we were still in the hospital, my wife Jennifer made the decision that Noah would become an organ donor. She remembered a moment when she and Noah were watching a popular medical TV show- Noah looked at the screen, watching the doctors at work, and said, " want to do that someday. I want to save peoples's lives." When LifeLine of Ohio reached out, the decision felt clear and deeply right.
Not long after, we learned about LifeLine of Ohio's annual Dash for Donation 5K. We signed up, created a team in Noah's honor, and within just a few weeks, more than 200 people joined our team. Team Noah Man continued to be the largest team to participate in the Dash for Donation for the next few years up until COVID.
This event holds and extraordinary place in our heart. LifeLine of Ohio is an exceptional organization, led by compassionate people committed to the life-saving mission of organ and tissue donation. Through the Dash for Donation, we not only support this vital cause but we also carry forward Noah's spirit, love and legacy.
We are profoundly grateful to LifeLine of Ohio and to every person who has walked, run, volunteered, or stood alongside us over the years. We look forward with full hearts to bringing Team Noah Man back- and to honoring Noah's memory through the lives he continues to touch.
Noah was a very happy, fun loving boy. He was funny and had a quick wit about him at such a young age. He was always joking around and was friends with everyone. Noah was also kind and caring. Everyone loved him, and he loved them right back. He loved cars and motorcycles,, playing video games and watching movies. His favorite movie was "Cars." He was just starting the enjoy sports with me. The Ohio State Buckeyes and New York Yankees were his two favorite teams. He took Karate for about two years and was working on getting his black belt. Noah also enjoyed learning, learning about the stars and the constellations. He had all the emblems of the cars memorized and could spot them from a mile away. He liked to read and wanted to learn how to speak Spanish.
I remember his smile, his laugh and even his cry. Best of all I remember his little voice saying "I love you." This is how I will remember him and this is what still puts a smile on my face.
